HOWL @ Hawkwood

My vocal ensemble HOWL had an inspiring and deeply enriching residency at Hawkwood this year, where time and space to sing, create, plan, and dream together proved invaluable. The week culminated in a live performance at the Hidden Notes Festival in Stroud, sharing work developed during the residency in the resonant setting of St Laurence’s Church. Alongside continuing to develop original material, the ensemble began exploring works by composers beyond HOWL, including David Lang’s I Lie and music by Hildegard von Bingen, expanding their vocal and musical horizons.  Beyond music-making, we also developed visual material for an upcoming project and reflected on the group’s future, leaving Hawkwood refreshed, inspired, and more connected than ever.
