Ojas Rojas @ Snape Maltings
Ojas Rojas is a new commission from the Jewish Music Institute, bringing together myself and two amazing composers Ana Silvera and Tomer Damsky for a new collaboration. We began our work together with a residency at Snape Maltings. Drawing on ancient texts and rare recordings from medieval Iberia, our music reimagines the shared heritage of Sephardic, Arabic, and Ibero-Christian traditions, weaving a rich tapestry of sound that bridges centuries and cultures. We were joined at Snape by special guests Syrian oud virtuoso Nawras Altaky and soprano Kate Huggett. We shared the beginnings of our collaboration in an open session at Snape and we continue to work on the project with performances planned for 2026.
